First I would like to thank the organisers of the Euwe Stimulus for inviting me to this extraordinary tournament. The organisers have managed to form a very strong and interesting field of participants, and I am proud to be part of this company. With so different types of players, the tournament will undoubtably present a lot of fighting chess, and I will do my best to give the spectators and organisers a show for the money. I have decided to show you a game from my previous visit in Holland. The game was played in the penultimate round of the Vlissingen Open 2006, and in it I conducted the white pieces against the strong Dutch IM, Jop Delemarre. The game itself is quite memorable for me, as it played a crucial role for my success in the tournament, in which I scored my third and final IM-norm. Anyway, here goes:
The game.
