An extra asset during the tournament is an exhibition of chess art by ´Schaakkunst´. An initiative by Margreet Wevers and Geert van Tongeren. The combination chess and art is known for many centuries. Hundreds of years ago drawings, paintings and most artistic designs and chess sets have been made already. Chess has always inspired many artists. Chess is about looking ahead, developing a strategy, working out tactics and analysing.
