Born May 3, 1941; age 66. A chess legend. She was the most successful woman player of her generation. She was the sixth Women’s World Champion in the period 1962 to 1978 and the first female IGM. She defended her title four times with success, three times against Alla Kushnir and once against Nana Alexandria. She regularly played in ‘men’s tournaments’. The last time she played in the Netherlands was in 2005, winning the BDO tournament in Haarlem with a 6½/9 score, achieving a performance rating of 2510. link to the FIDE website.
